TVF fan (reversible, high-temperature resistant axial flow fan for subway tunnels)
TVF stands for Tunnel Ventilation Fan, a specialized bidirectional reversible axial flow fan designed for subway and urban tunnels. It is primarily used for daily tunnel ventilation, train air exchange during blockages, and smoke exhaust during fire or high-temperature scenarios; it is also commonly referred to as DTF(R) reversible tunnel fan.

Core Applications (Three Main Operating Modes)
-
1. Normal operation of ventilation systems
-
During morning and evening peak hours, waste heat generated during train operation is discharged to replace the air inside and outside the tunnel, thereby controlling tunnel temperature and humidity as well as piston air pressure, and reducing accumulated heat within the tunnel.
-
2. Train congestion scenario
-
In case of train malfunction and stoppage within the tunnel, rapid air supply with oxygen and exhaust gas removal are ensured to guarantee a safe evacuation environment for passengers.
-
3. Fire emergency exhaust system (core fire safety feature)
-
During an interval fire, high-speed bidirectional directional exhaust is activated to control the smoke flow direction and maintain a smoke-free safety zone in evacuation routes; national standards require continuous operation at 250°C for 60 minutes, with some specifications achieving a tolerance standard of 280°C for 45 minutes.
Overall Structural Composition
The entire unit features a built-in axial-flow motor design and supports both horizontal and vertical floor installation, with a standard shock-absorbing base.
1. Housing: Constructed from welded Q235 steel plate with hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion coating, featuring a rigid air duct cylinder body
2. Impeller: Aluminum alloy wing-shaped blades (with adjustable shutdown angle) + hub; dynamically balanced to G2.5 grade with low operational vibration
3. Built-in motor: A specialized wet-heat type motor equipped with bearings, winding temperature monitoring, and moisture-resistant electric heating
4. Front and rear guide vanes, collector: Optimize airflow and enhance efficiency in both forward and reverse directions
5. Anti-surge device: Prevents surge and abnormal vibration noises under low air volume conditions
6. Damping spring shock absorber, bracket, and matching stainless steel fasteners
7. Accessories: muffler, interlocked damper, soft-start control cabinet
Key Performance Characteristics
1. Bidirectional and reversible, with balanced performance in both directions
The air volume, pressure, and power remain essentially consistent during forward/reverse operation; direction switching is completed within ≤30–60 seconds, followed by shutdown and reverse startup to the rated speed, meeting rapid directional smoke exhaust requirements for fire scenarios, with a combined efficiency of ≥76%.
2. High-temperature resistant fire safety certification
Fire resistance mandatory specification: capable of continuous operation for 1 hour under 250°C conditions without damage, passing national fire type certification tests; serves as the core equipment for subway fire safety acceptance.
3. High air volume, medium to low pressure, high efficiency
At both ends of the subway station, there are usually several units arranged in parallel.
4. Stable operation with corrosion-resistant durability
High-precision dynamic balancing of the impeller + comprehensive overspeed/vibration testing of the entire unit; blades and hub undergo anodic oxidation, while the housing is galvanized to withstand humid and dusty underground environments; bearing design life ≥ 50,000 hours.
5. Multiple Security Designs
Prevent surge faults – Motor windings, front and rear bearings PT10
